Ernesto’s the name and hair is my game. I am a licensed stylist with an expertise in textured cuts, balayages, and color corrections. I am an educator for the California based color line, Color Edge who believes in putting the integrity of the hair first and who’s core values are in line with mine when it comes to providing clients with the best and only the best.

I started my career in a small boutique salon in East LA but early on realized I wanted more. I worked my way up into a more established business, but soon realized that the corporate structure of a mainstream salon goes against everything I believe. I believe that hairstylist should have the freedom to express their skills and talents in every way shape or form. These experiences shaped the way I see and run my business today.

Working for others inspired me to push forward and move into a 110 square foot studio in Whittier, California. There I learned what it really takes to be your own boss. My client list grew and so did I. Today I am the proud owner and founder of the Hair Therapist salon in Montebello, California.

My name is Mayra and they call me the color queen. I specialize in balayages, cuts, and color corrections. Hair is my passion and great hair doesn’t happen by chance. It happens by appointments. I know that people come with high expectations, wanting major transformations or a quick fix but the truth is important work takes time. Maintaining the health and integrity of your hair is my number one priority. I use top quality products and spend plenty of time with my clients to ensure they leave the chair feeling like the world is theirs. Doing hair has opened up a world of opportunities for me. Traveling and networking within the hair world has influenced my process and techniques for the better and I continue to learn new and exciting things everyday.
